Bio
Kate Gurke joins Green City Market as Operations Manager, bringing deep experience in food access, farmers markets, local food systems, and organizational operations. Prior to joining Green City Market, Kate served as the Farm Direct Program Manager at Experimental Station, where she oversaw the Link Match program across Illinois, supporting more than 100 farmers markets, farm stands, and CSA programs with funding, training, and operational systems.
Kate also spent several years with The Urban Canopy, helping lead operations across the organization and managing LUCSA, their community supported agriculture program. During her time there, she helped grow the program significantly, expanded partnerships with local farms and food producers, and developed systems that strengthened day-to-day operations and delivery logistics.
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Kate spent many years in the Twin Cities and loves talking all things Minnesota. Outside of work, she plays cello with a community orchestra and chamber groups, enjoys gardening, going camping and backpacking, and can often be found exploring parks with her two-year-old.
